Critical Beauty honors YARA LASANTA!
Héctor Joaquín Colón González, the director of Belleza Crítica,
the Spanish edition of Critical Beauty, presented a special Critical Beauty Award to Yara Lasanta,
who was second runner-up in the recently concluded Nuestra Belleza Latina, a reality-style mega-pageant produced
by Univisión. The informal award ceremony took place last Sunday, June 10th, at Centro de Bellas Artes in Barranquitas,
Puerto Rico. Yara was very emotional when she received the award from Héctor, her mentor and coach in the left photo below.
Yara deserves special recognition for her outstanding
accomplishments in the pageant world. When she was only 15 years of age, she was crowned Miss
Teenage International 2001. At 17, she was crowned Miss Teen Latina USA 2003. In 2005 and 2007, she
represented her hometown of Barranquitas in the Miss Puerto Rico Universe pageant where she was a finalist
in both years. If the Nuestra Belleza Latina pageant had not been based on online voting but
on traditional judging alone, Yara could have won as she was the favorite of the jury that
included former Miss Universe Alicia Machado and beauty queen czar Osmel Sousa.
Critical Beauty is honored to give a special recognition to the beautiful
and talented Yara Lasanta. Will she enter another pageant again? Rumour has it that she might represent
Puerto Rico in Miss Earth 2008. We will see about that! For now, we wish her the best of luck in her personal
and professional endeavors. ¡Yara querida, te deseamos lo mejor en tu vida, te apreciamos, te admiramos y te queremos con todo corazón!
Besos y abrazos de Critical Beauty.
