I Attended My First Songkran Festival Where A New Queen Was Crowned
On April 27, 2025, I attended my first ever Songkran Festival that was held on the grounds of a Buddhist temple a few miles from my house. Initially, I hesitated going because of the unpredictable weather, but a voice in the back of my mind kept telling me that if didn’t go, that I would regret it for the rest of my life. Thank you, voice in the back of my mind for convincing me to go! The festival celebrates Thai New Year. It was my first visit to a Buddhist temple. The festival featured vendors selling Thai foods and other products, performances by the temple Sunday school students, live music, parade, and a Miss Songkran contest (which I hope to judge next year! 🤗) I reunited with Miss New Hampshire Teen USA 2024 Tara Marshall who co-hosted the event. She is so pretty and charming and she did a great job hosting!
