Italy wins Top Model of the World 2012

Luna Voce of Italy (center) won the Top Model of the World 2012 competition at the Casino Hohensyburg
in Dortmund, Germany on March 10th. The 2nd runner-up is Melina Ramirez Serna of Colombia (left) and the 1st runner-up is Malaika Mushandu of Zimbabwe (right). A pageant veteran, Voce represented Italy in Miss International 2008 and Miss Earth 2009. She was also a semifinalist in Miss Nederland 2011.

The 3rd runner-up is Maria de Luz Da Silva of Venezuela. She was Miss Mérida in Miss Venezuela 2009 and also represented Portugal in Miss Friendship International 2009.

The 4th runner-up is Celine Alroe of Denmark.

Completing the top 15 semifinalists were (in order of placement): 6. Thuy Hoang (Vietnam), 7. Nadyalee Torres (Puerto Rico), 8. Laetitia Wastyn (Belgium), 9. Alona Lyashchuk (Ukraine), 10. Kelly Fonseca Rodrigues (Brazil), 11. Nayeli Quiroga Via (Bolivia), 12. Brianna Ortiz (Cuba),  13. Macarena Francia (Argentina), 14. Loreal Laria Magro (South Africa).

If I had been one of the judges, I would have replaced Venezuela with Vietnam (who won the Best Catwalk Award) and who looked like a real top model compared to the rest of finalists! Wouldn't you agree?

End Of The Year Review - Pageantry In 2021

And the winner is... Miss Quasi-Normal. Runners-up include Miss Apartheid Universe and Miss Covid World.         2021 pageantry was characterized by a gradual return to normalcy as pageant competitions – which had been cancelled or postponed in 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic – succeeded in staging physical productions while paying close attention to universal safety guidelines. Even major events like the Tokyo Summer Olympics, which was cancelled in 2020, successfully took place in 2021. Miss Universe and Miss Grand International held two editions (one each for 2020 and 2021), The Miss World finals was postponed for March 2022 after several contestants had tested positive for COVID-19 in Puerto Rico which hosts the pageant. The year was also a milestone for Miss Universe and Miss World’s 70th anniversary and Miss America’s 100th anniversary. TRANS-CENDENTAL MISS:    On March 8, 2021, Filipino-American  Kataluna Enrique z made history by being the first transwoman to be crowned
