THREE COUNTRIES, ONE CROWN: Oricia del Carmen Domínguez Dos Santos, 27, was crowned Miss Universe Portugal 2021 on September 11. She was one of five women crowned to represent Portugal in five major pageants.

This is Oricia’s third attempt to win a national title for Miss Universe, and each attempt was made in a different country. First of all, she was born and raised in
Caracas, Venezuela and competed in Miss Venezuela 2018 representing the state of Táchira where she placed 2nd runner-up.

Then in 2019 Oricia moved to Spain to attend the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid where she received a degree in fashion. In 2020, she went to Conde Nast College in Madrid where she received a diploma in journalism with emphasis on beauty, fashion and lifestyle. From 2020 to 2021 she studied business at the Universidad de Deusto in Bilbao, España. On July 24, 2020 she represented Guadalajara in Miss World Spain 2020 where she was unplaced but finished in the top 5 of Beauty With A Purpose.

Finally, on September 11, 2021 she represented Spain’s Portuguese community in Miss Portuguesa 2021 and won the title, giving her the right to represent Portugal in Miss Universe 2021 to be held in Eilat, Israel in December.

Isn’t it nice to possess three nationalities and use them to your advantage to win a spot in Miss Universe?

NEW YORK — Miss Universe is heading to Israel for its 70th competition.

The Miss Universe Organization announced Tuesday that the pageant will be held this December in the southern resort city of Eilat.

Steve Harvey will once again return as host.

The three-hour event will broadcast live on Fox in the U.S. and also in 180 countries and territories across the globe. It will end with the current Miss Universe, Mexico’s Andrea Meza, crowning her successor.

Meza, a former software engineer, has advocated for women’s rights and is also encouraging people to get the vaccine from COVID-19. Soon after she was named Miss Universe, Meza invited the media to cover her first vaccination shot in New York.

In a statement released by the Miss Universe Organization, Meza said she hopes “as many people as possible” get vaccinated so they can participate in the 70th Miss Universe contest. Meza was crowned Miss Universe in May, beating out Miss Brazil.

Previous winner Zozibini Tunzi fit the crown on Meza's head and waited to make sure it would stay in place as Meza beamed and took her first walk to the front of the stage.

Tunzi, a public relations professional who became the first Black woman from South Africa to win the contest, had held the title since December 2019. Last year's ceremony was postponeddue to the pandemic.

Meet Shouryaditya Singh - Mister Tourism World India 2021

When eloquence meets charism, meet the alluring sensation of Indian male pageantry, Shouryaditya Singh

It is often said that a man’s charisma and appeal enhance when eloquence and intellect get added to it. Something similar happened this year, at India’s most celebrated male pageant - Rubaru Mr. India, when Jharkhand’s Shouryaditya Singh won the coveted title. Along with winning the title, he also topped the preliminary as well as the final interview segments of the contest by receiving the highest scores from all the members of the judging panel. This was confirmed by a public statement released by the Rubaru Mr. India organization. With this remarkable accomplishment, Shouryaditya Singh joined the elite league of the most eloquent and intellectual beauty pageant titleholders.

This year’s Rubaru Mr. India pageant followed a very intricate and complex selection process. The candidates had multiple rounds focusing on their communication skills and articulation. The first segment of the interview was made available to the public. It vividly portrayed Shouryaditya Singh’s concrete thought process and command over his words. He easily aced all these rounds and made his way straight to the winner’s title.

Shouryaditya Singh is the first Mr. India winner from the Indian state of Jharkhand. After winning the contest, he was signed by a London-based international modelling organization. Along with that, he has also been chosen to walk the ramp at the World Tourism Fashion Festival, launched in Italy. His winning package also bestowed him with the opportunity to serve as India’s representative at the international championship - Mister Tourism World, scheduled to happen at the end of the year.

Another Filipino Fashion Designer Echoes Michael Cinco’s Rant About Miss Universe Canada Organization

Filipino fashion designer Rian Fernandez has shared his harrowing experience with Miss Universe Canada Organization some years ago.

On Facebook, Fernandez broke his silence following the hullabaloos circulating the social media on how the Canadian team allegedly “deceived the great Michael Cinco, a well-renowned Filipino designer based in Dubai.”

“I just want to share the dreadful experience I had with them as well. An awful experience that almost cost my life!,” he said.

“I wanted my voice to be heard NOW because I am one with M5 when he mentioned that FILIPINO DESIGNERS SHOULD NO LONGER TRUST Miss Universe Canada Organization, under the directorship of Denis Martin Davila. I will not allow this VILE & CHEATERY of Denis to continue!”

A few days ago, Cinco called out Miss Universe Canada 2020 Nova Stevens and MGmode’s Migüel Martinez and Denis Martin Davila who allegedly spread fake news about his team as being “unprofessional.”

In there, he belied the claim that Stevens’ “unfitted” gowns arrived “late,” seemingly “to sabotage” her win.

But Stevens was quick to address the controversy she got embroiled in with Dubai-based Filipino renowned Fashion designer.

Anyway, Fernandez said he and Davila go way back. They had several collaborations before, but netizens only took notice of their partnership when he dressed Siera Bearchell during Miss Universe 2016.

“I know everyone remembered that white serpentine gown that was bashed online. Yes, I did that. Yes, I was criticized because of that! But I have another gown that I wanted her to wear for the finals. This was the brown high-slitted gown with sweetheart bustline that Nick Verreos, a famous US-based blogger, ranked 1st for the Miss Universe 2016 Red Carpet event worn by Cynthia Bailey. Since Denis mentioned that Siera wanted to wear the white serpentine gown, I just lent Cynthia the said gown. Just to know that Siera didn’t even see the brown gown! (BTW, Siera and I are still good friends, and I even made her wedding gown.)”

But that was not the “drama” yet, as he just left that all behind him because he felt that he has a “great collaborative relationship” with Davila, or so he thought.

According to him, sometime in September 2018, when Marta Stepien was just crowned as Miss Universe Canada, he and Davila were already discussing the gowns for the beauty queen.

To make sure that Stepien would have several options for her preliminary and final gowns (and other functions like red carpet and dinner events), he made five outfits in deep red, blue, green, gold, and nude.

He had shown those gowns to the two before the fitting.

“They said they were excited. So, my team & I went to Thailand on Nov. 28, 2018, for Marta’s fitting, then went back to Manila on the 30th. And returned to Thailand again on Dec. 9 to make sure that Marta will get all the assistance. My team and I stayed in Thailand for weeks… ALL EXPENSES FOR MY TEAM WAS SHOULDERED BY ME! The gowns were made out of love for the reason that Denis promised me that I will get the exposure & media mileage,” he said.

“But alas, the preliminary competition happened, and I was shock that Marta is wearing a Michael Cinco creation. I have nothing against M5 because he is an icon! My point is, we were promised by Denis that Marta will wear me to the preliminary and final competition because we have a group chat of continuous updates on how the 5 gowns are going.”

Since such thing happened, he asked Davila to return to him all the five gowns so that other ladies can wear his on the final night, even just for an “outfit of the day” backstage so that people will see the creations that he and his team worked hard for.

“Denis didn’t return the gowns (except for the one Miss Cambodia wore… the deep red gown) for he promised me that Marta will really wear me for the finals, but you all know that it didn’t happen and Marta still wore M5… THAT HE B*$H!+ ME TWICE!,” he said.

Fernandez said he was “devastated” and even cried in his hotel room.

“I FELT FRUSTRATED, CHEATED… and I questioned my talent and skill as a designer! Until the stress and anxiety level escalated, and I felt half of my body paralyzed. It was the scariest moment of my life. Luckily, there was this supporter of Catriona, a licensed Physical Therapist in Dubai, who helped me. If not, I might not have seen the light of day,” he shared.

After that incident, he never received any explanation or apology from their team, he continued.

“I know that I shouldn’t be counting the cost of that dreadful experience (both financially, mentally & psychologically) because I wanted to be part of Marta’s Miss Universe journey. To sir Michael Cinco’s point, a simple THANK YOU would do! But those 2 simple words that could have eased my anxiety was not even uttered by Denis Martin Davila, Marta Magdalena Stepien and Miss Universe Canada organization.”

He hopes it will be a lesson to all of the Filipino designers.

“Never shall we be scammed again by this MUC organization!”

Fernandez also sent his message to Denis and his team.

“Please have some gratitude and a little sense of professionalism when dealing with people who want to help your queen. Please have a little shame. May this be the end of your swindler personality!”

Filipino Designer Michael Cinco Calls Out Miss Universe Canada Team For Being ‘Ungrateful’

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 23) -- Dubai-based Filipino fashion designer Michael Cinco called out the Miss Universe Canada team after he was blamed for her failure to land in the semifinals of the Miss Universe pageant.

Cinco said the team has been spreading lies about him, including sabotaging Miss Canada Nova Stevens' chances in the international pageant.

“Now this is for you, to the whole Miss Canada team Migüel Martinez, Denis Martin Davila, and Miss Canada Organization and your ungrateful Miss Canada Nova Stevens,” said Cinco in a lengthy Facebook post on Saturday.

“You have been spreading fake news about me and my team being unprofessional days before the pageant but I chose to be quiet and calm. But this time, I need to stand up for me and my team, as it is just so unfair!” he added.

The fashion designer also posted a screenshot of a comment from an Instagram account named MG Mode, where it claimed that Cinco’s gowns arrived late.

“The gowns arrived on time. Or how could you have sent me photos and videos of her wearing them, showing how the gowns perfectly fitted her, days before each event,” said Cinco.

“You even posted a video of Nova in her last fitting and she was happy. You were forcing me to make Nova’s 26'' waist line to be cinched to 23'', which I obviously didn’t heed even if you said that in pageants, comfort doesn’t matter. But please don't say that her gown was ill-fitting,” he added.

Moreover, Cinco said that it was him who shouldered the photo shoots of Stevens while wearing his creations.

“Her life story was supposedly inspiring and I even went out of my way hiring a team of world-class photographer and filmmaker to shoot her in my couture gowns at a world-class location in Dubai just to give her extra publicity mileage and create for her a balance of glam and luxury as opposed to her humble homecoming in Africa. And everything in that shoot was paid for by me. Did you get that?” he said.

Cinco pointed out that other Miss Universe candidates who wore his designs, such as Miss Romania and Miss Czech Republic, expressed their gratitude to him. Even eventual winner Miss Mexico sent him a message, despite not being able to wear his gown both in the preliminary and finals night.

“But for Nova and your team, not only have I not got a curt ‘thank you,’ but even seemed so upset with me for (Steven) being eliminated in the pageant. Am I the judge?” said Cinco.

He also warned the team not to hire him or any Filipino designers anymore.

“You all are ungrateful, vile, and professional users. Next time don’t ask me or any Filipino designers to dress up your candidates. Ask your Canadian designers to showcase their works in world stage,” said Cinco.

For her part, Stevens said in a video she has nothing but “love” and “gratitude" towards Cinco.

“You have created the most beautiful gowns I could think of. I’ve never once imagined that I would work with you because you’re Michel Cinco. So the fact that I was able to work with you is honestly a highlight of my career as Miss Universe Canada,” she said. So I just want you to know that – that gratitude would never be diminished no matter what. And I’ll express that gratitude publicly and privately.”

Stevens has now made her Instagram account private.
