Bininbining Pilipinas Charities Inc. bestowed the pageant's highest title of Binibining Pilipinas International to Lopez at the grand coronation night held on Saturday, May 28, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.  She was crowned at the 59th edition of the national pageant by her successor Binibining Pilipinas International 2022 Nicole Borromeo and Miss International 2022 Jasmin Selberg. Meet the new Indonesian queens who were crowned May 19 in Jakarta. Yasinta Aurellia @yasintaaurel  1st Runner Up (Miss Supranational Indonesia 2023) will compete in Miss Supranational 2023 in July.   Third time’s a charm: Camilla Escribens, 24, was crowned Miss Peru 2023 on May 18 after her third try. She was first runner-up at Miss Perú 2019 and Miss Perú 2021. She was appointed Miss Grand Peru 2019 and made the top 10 in Miss Grand International 2019.  She will now represent her country at Miss Universe 2023 pageant in El Salvador sometime in December.

Congratulations to Michelle Dee, 28, of Makati for being crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2023. She becomes the second Filipina to win both MUPH and Miss World PH (2019) crown (the first being Catriona Gray). Dee will now compete in Miss Universe 2023 pageant to be held in El Salvador sometime in December. After the show, the other two finalists, Krishnah Gravidez of Baguio and Pauline Amelinckx of Bohol, were crowned respectively as Miss Charm Philippines 2023 and Miss Supranational Philippines 2023. The first runner-up is Christine Opiaza of Zambales and the second runner-up is Angelique Manto of Pampanga. Dee is the daughter of Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez and placed in the top 12 of Miss World 2019 contest.

  After watching the swimsuit and evening gown preliminaries of Miss Universe Philippines 2023, here are my top ten favorites for the crown. The finals will be held on Saturday, May 13, in Manila.

  MIAMI  – The former executive director of the Miss Florida pageant has been sentenced to more than a year in federal prison for  stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars  from the organization. Mary Wickersham, 77, was sentenced last Friday in Miami federal court, according to court records. Earlier this year, she pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud, while six other counts were dropped. In addition to prison time, Wickersham, who is also known as Mary Sullivan, must pay $243,000 in restitution. Wickersham began serving as the executive director of the Miss Florida Scholarship Program in 2002. The program offers educational and financial assistance to young women across the state, and each year the state winner goes on to compete in the Miss America pageant, which Florida has won twice.
