Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Crowned

Congratulations to Beatrice Luigi Gomez, 26, representing Cebu City, for being crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2021 on September 30 . An openly member of the LGBTQIA community, she will now represent the Philippines in Miss Universe 2021 pageant in Eilat, Israel in December. I was actually very surprised by her win as she wasn’t even on my list. Goes to show you that pageants could be unpredictable.

Katrina Dimaranan of Taguig, whom most fans have predicted to be the winner, ended up placing second and winning the Miss Universe Philippines Tourism 2021 title. She will succeed Beatrice if the latter is unable to fulfill her duties as MUPH 2021.

Victoria Velasquez of Cavite was crowned Miss Universe Philippines Charity 2021.

The first runner-up is Maureen Wroblewitz of Pangasinan.

And the second runner-up is another crowd favorite, Steffi Aberasturi of Cebu Province.

NEW PORTUGUESE QUEENS FOR 2021

THREE COUNTRIES, ONE CROWN: Oricia del Carmen Domínguez Dos Santos, 27, was crowned Miss Universe Portugal 2021 on September 11. She was one of five women crowned to represent Portugal in five major pageants.

This is Oricia’s third attempt to win a national title for Miss Universe, and each attempt was made in a different country. First of all, she was born and raised in
Caracas, Venezuela and competed in Miss Venezuela 2018 representing the state of Táchira where she placed 2nd runner-up.

Then in 2019 Oricia moved to Spain to attend the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid where she received a degree in fashion. In 2020, she went to Conde Nast College in Madrid where she received a diploma in journalism with emphasis on beauty, fashion and lifestyle. From 2020 to 2021 she studied business at the Universidad de Deusto in Bilbao, España. On July 24, 2020 she represented Guadalajara in Miss World Spain 2020 where she was unplaced but finished in the top 5 of Beauty With A Purpose.

Finally, on September 11, 2021 she represented Spain’s Portuguese community in Miss Portuguesa 2021 and won the title, giving her the right to represent Portugal in Miss Universe 2021 to be held in Eilat, Israel in December.

Isn’t it nice to possess three nationalities and use them to your advantage to win a spot in Miss Universe?

Reacting To Andre Sleigh's "I'm so sick of these fucking Indonesians" Comment

Watch our group chat which was live streamed via Zoom on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021 at 7:00 AM EST. My guests  include Peter Sereno of The Pageant Institute, Ko Phanasa of KP1Worldwide, and Hector Joaquin of The Hector Joaquin Show. We react to Miss Supranational Organization's Creative Director Andre Sleigh's comment that he made on social media which offended the Indonesian pageant fans. Andre has been receiving hateful comments and death threats from Indonesians after their contest, Jihane Chedid, failed to make the top five despite her immense popularity. Miss South Africa 2020 Shudufhadzo Musida Launches Children's Book

© Provided by Cape Times

Miss South Africa Shudufhadzo Musida’s children’s book, Shudu Finds Her Magic, hits bookstores on Thursday, and for every book sold one will be donated.

Published by Jacana Media, Shudu Finds Her Magic is available in six languages and includes colourful illustrations by Chantelle and Burgen Thorne.

The book, which is aimed at children aged from 4 to 9, is inspired by Musida’s childhood and the bullying she experienced when she moved to a new province and a new school.

“The response and interest to the news that I had written a book has been phenomenal. I am over the moon that it is now available this week,” she said.

Musida has chosen her book as part of her Beauty with a Purpose project for Miss World 2021. As the reigning Miss South Africa 2020, she will be participating in the 70th edition of the Miss World pageant to be held on December 16, 2021 at the Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

For every book sold, one will be donated to Childline South Africa and the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (Sadag) who help children with issues like bullying and depression. Copies will also be given to literacy organisations such as Biblionef which donate books to schools and libraries to help foster a love of reading.

Musida will also be hosting a series of virtual school readings and will do a countrywide tour to promote the book, subject to Covid-19 restrictions.

Shudu Finds Her Magic – which sells for R95 – is also available in Afrikaans (Shudu Vind Haar Sprankel), Sesotho (Shudu O Sibolla Boikgetho ba hae), Venda (Shudu u wana Vhuṱolo Hawe), Xhosa (uShudu u Fumanisa ukuba UnoMlingo) and Zulu (uShudu Uthola Umlingo Wakhe).
