MANILA, Philippines   –  Krishnah Marie Gravidez of Baguio was crowned Miss World Philippines 2024 during the live coronation night held in the Mall of Asia Arena, which began on Sunday evening, July 19 and ended up running until the early hours of Monday, July 20. Gravidez bested 32 other candidates in the competition to succeed Miss World Philippines 2022 Gwendolyne Fourniol.  Prior to joining Miss World Philippines 2024, Gravidez was  named  Miss Charm Philippines 2023 in May 2023 after finishing in the Top 5 of the Miss Universe Philippines 2023. She  relinquished  her Miss Charm Philippines title in June 2024. During the coronation night, Gravidez also took home the Best in Evening Gown, Best in Swimsuit, and Miss Photogenic special awards.  Aside from Gravidez, four other women were also crowned. Suchata “Opal” Chuangsri has been crowned Miss Universe Thailand 2024 on July 14. She will now represent Thailand in Miss Universe 2024 pageant to be held in Mexico in November. Opal was originally third runner-up in Miss Universe Thailand 2022, but was promoted to 2nd runner-up after the resignation of the first runner-up Nicolene Limsnukan. The first runner-up is Surisa “Sueri” Susana Renaud of Phuket and the second runner-up is Karnruethai “Mook” Tassabut of Ubon Ratchathaniv. Myrna Esguerra, 22, representing the province of Abra, was crowned Binibining Pilipinas International 2024 on July 7 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. She will represent the Philippines in Miss International 2025. Andrea Rubio, the current Miss International, assisted in the crowning ceremony. 40 young women participated in the 60th anniversary edition of the country’s premier and oldest-running pageant. Myrna is a model and an advocate of Seed4Com, a sustainable energy and enterprise development. Coincidentally, first name of the first Miss International Philippines from 1964 - 60 years ago - was also Myrna (Panlilio). Meanwhile, Jasmin Bungay, 26, representing Pampanga, was crowned Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2024 and will compete in The Miss Globe 2024 pageant to be held in Albania later this year. The first runner-up is Christal Jean de la Cruz, 19, of Zambales and the second runner-up is Trisha Martinez, 26, of Pila, Laguna. Congratulations to the new queens!

  Christina De La Cruz Chalk , 31, whose father is Scottish and mother is Filipino, has been crowned Miss Universe Great Britain 2024 on July 6 in Newport, Wales. She will now represent Great Britain (United Kingdom) in Miss Universe 2024 to be held in Mexico in November. Christina had competed in Miss Universe Philippines 2024 representing the Filipino community of the United Kingdom. She placed in the top 20. She previously competed in Miss Universe Great Britain four times, placing first runner-up twice: in 2016 and 2021. Congratulations to the new queen!

  Harashta Haifa Zahra , a 20-year-old entrepreneur and model representing Indonesia, was crowned Miss Supranational 2024 in Nowy Sącz, Poland on July 6. Her victory mark’s Indonesia’s first win of the contest that is celebrating its 15th year.  Harashta was crowned by her predecessor Andrea Aguilera of Ecuador. Jenna Dystrak of the United States was first runner-up, followed by Justyna Zednikovano of Czech Republic, Isadora Murta of Brazil and Chanelle de Lau of Curaçao. Completing the top 12 were the delegates from Denmark, Puerto Rico, Thailand, Philippines, India, South Africa and Finland. Congratulations to the new queen!

Mkhize was first runner-up in Mr. World 2019. Thirty-six contestants participated in the 8th edition of the contest.   Jennifer Colón, 36, representing the municipality of Orocovis, has been crowned Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2024 on June 27. She makes history by being the first mother to win the title. She has two children with singer Ellan Allende, but the couple filed for divorce in 2021. She is now engaged to actor Jairo Calero and the couple has one child. Jennifer is a pageant veteran. She was Miss Teen of Puerto Rico 2006. She placed second in Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2009, was crowned Miss World Puerto Rico 2009. She will now represent Puerto Rico in Miss Universe 2024 to be held in Mexico in November.

In this vlog, I react to the finals of Miss Universe Philippines 2024 that took place on May 22, 2024 at the Mall of Asia in Pasay City.  

  The Philippines has found a new queen in Chelsea Anne Manalo of Bulacan, who was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2024 during the grand coronation night on Wednesday, May 22, beating 52 other delegates and the first ever half-Black to win the title. Dubbed “Bulacan Barbie,” the 24-year-old was born and raised in Meycauyan City to a Black American father and a Filipino mother, who divorced in 2000. After the divorce, her mother married a Filipino. She has been joining beauty pageants since high school and has also been modeling since she was 14 years old and has landed covers in magazines such as Mega. In 2017, Manalo participated in Miss World Philippines, finishing in the top 15. She graduated with a tourism degree in college, and aside from pageantry, she developed a greater passion for music and dancing.
