Misters of Filipinas 2017

Miss International Brazil 2017

The first ever Miss International Brazil pageant took place on September 29 in Rio de Janeiro. The winner is Bruna Zanardo , 26, from São Paulo. Miss Earth fans will recognize Bruna as Miss Earth Fire 2016, but she had to relinquish the title to compete in Miss Universe Brazil 2017, which she failed to win. Will Lady Luck be on her side at Miss International 2017 which takes place in Tokyo, Japan on November 14? Brazil has won Miss International only once, in 1968 with Maria da Glória Carvalho . Miss World Guam 2017

Miss World Guam 2017 is Destiny Cruz , 19, from the village of Inarajan, was crowned Miss World Guam 2017 on September 30 at the Sheraton Laguna Guam resort. Her charity of choice was the Down Syndrome Association of Guam. She will now represent Guam in Miss World 2017 pageant to be held in Sanya, China on November 18. The first runner-up was Annania Nauta , second runner-up was Erin Wong and the third runner-up was Alana Santos .  Photo credit: Miss World Guam

Miss World China 2017

Guan Siyu , 23, was crowned Miss World China 2017 on September 30th. She will now represent China at Miss World 2017 pageant to be held in Sanya, China on November 18. China has won the Miss World crown twice: Zhang Zilin (2007) and Yu Wenxia (2012), both of whom were crowned in China. Will Guan follow their suit and become the third Chinese woman to be crowned in her home country?

Miss Universe Iceland 2017

Arna Yr Jonsdottir was crowned  Miss Universe Iceland 2017 in Reykjavik on September 25, 2017. Ten young women from all over Iceland competed in this year's pageant. Jonsdottir will now compete in Miss Universe 2017 pageant whose date and venue have not yet been confirmed. Jonsdottir is a pageant veteran, having represented Iceland in Miss World 2015. But her biggest claim to fame so far is having withdrawn from Miss Grand International 2016 held in Las Vegas last October after she was told by the pageant organizer that she was "fat" . 

Miss Turkey Dethroned Over ‘Unacceptable’ Tweet About Attempted Coup

Miss Turkey organizers said the 18-year-old Itir Esen was dethroned on Friday, a day after she won the contest and the right to represent Turkey at the Miss World contest in China. The organizers said in an emailed statement that her title was revoked because of a tweet in July that they described as "unacceptable." Runner-up Asli Sumen will now represent Turkey in China. Media reports said Esen, a model and university student, caused a storm on social media after she posted a remark on Twitter as the country held memorials for the victims on the first anniversary of the July 15, 20

Miss North Dakota Cara Mund Is the New Miss America

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — Miss North Dakota, Cara Mund , who said President Donald Trump was wrong to pull the United States out of the Paris climate accord, was named Miss America 2018 Sunday night in Atlantic City. Mund, 23, topped a field of 51 contestants to win the crown in the New Jersey seaside resort, where most of the 97 Miss Americas have been selected. In one of her onstage interviews, Mund said Trump, a Republican, was wrong to withdraw the United States from the climate accord aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to global warming. "It's a bad decision," she said. "There is evidence that climate change is existing, and we need to be at that table." Miss World Philippines 2017

Laura Lehmann was crowned winner of Miss World Philippines 2017 on Sunday, September 3, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.  She will represent the country at the Miss World pageant to be held in Sanya, China on November 18. The other winners include:  Teresita "WinWyn" Marquez ,  Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2017 and will compete in Reina Hispanoamericana 2017 in Bolivia;  Cynthia Thomalla ,  Miss Eco Philippines 2017 who will compete in Miss Eco International 2017 in Egypt; and  Sophia Senoron , Miss Multinational Philippines 2017 who will compete in Miss Multinational 2017 to be held in the Philippines. The First Princess is Glyssa Perez and the  Second Princess is   Zara Carbonell . The pageant was not officially live streamed, much to the dismay of pageant fans who were unable to attend the show. Guests included the chairwoman of the Miss World Organization, Julia Morley , Miss World 2016 Stephanie Del Valle and her continental queens

Miss Haiti 2017

Cassandra Chéry, 21, of Port-au-Prince was crowned Miss Universe Haïti 2017 at Marriott Port-au-Prince on September 2nd. She will now represent Haïti in the 66th Miss Universe pageant to be held on November 26th. She was crowned by her predecessor  Raquel Pélissier who was 1st-runner-up at Miss Universe 2016.
