Someone has stolen Miss Oklahoma's crown.
Betty Thompson, who won the state pageant in June and was first runner-up in the Miss America pageant in January, said via Twitter that she was “heartbroken” about the loss.

Stillwater police Capt. Randy Dickerson said the stolen items included a wooden box that contained Thompson's crown and two brooches. The total estimated value of the items was $350.

Dickerson said the alleged theft took place April 22 but wasn't reported until Friday. The items were taken from the backseat of Thompson's car as her family helped her move in Stillwater.

The family had left the car open and unattended, he said.

Kay Alexander, executive director of the Miss Oklahoma Pageant, said the organization sent Thompson a replacement crown and had ordered a replacement box. The organization will also be replacing the two stolen brooches, Alexander said.

The incident isn't the first of its kind this year.

In February, Brittney Henry, the current Miss Washington, reported her crown, sashes and gowns stolen from her car in Edgewood, Washington.
