Arna Yr Jonsdottir was crowned Miss Universe Iceland 2017 in Reykjavik on September 25, 2017. Ten young women from all over Iceland competed in this year's pageant. Jonsdottir will now compete in Miss Universe 2017 pageant whose date and venue have not yet been confirmed. Jonsdottir is a pageant veteran, having represented Iceland in Miss World 2015. But her biggest claim to fame so far is having withdrawn from Miss Grand International 2016 held in Las Vegas last October after she was told by the pageant organizer that she was "fat".
