Alicia Machado crowned Reina del Festival del Mar Matamoros 2012

     Former Miss Universe (1996) from Venezuela, Alicia Machado, who has been pursuing her acting career in Mexico for almost a decade, was crowned Reina del Festival del Mar Matamoros 2012. In the photo above, Alicia addresses the crowd at Bagdad Beach minutes after her coronation. The festival celebrates the coastal city of Matamoros which is located in the state of Tamaulipas. Alicia is currently appearing in the new telenovela "Una Familia con Suerte" ("A Family with Luck") playing the role of Candy.
