Tippe Emmott crowned Miss Missouri 2012

Miss Branson Tippe Emmott was crowned Miss Missouri Saturday night in the City of Mexico.

She will take her platform, "Building Self-confidence to Achieve Success," to the Miss America 2013 pageant, next January in Las Vegas. The competition will be broadcast live on the ABC television network.

Emmott's pageant talent is Ballet en Pointe.

Last year, she represented Missouri at the National Sweetheart pageant, where she was first runner-up.

She also participated in the Missouri 2010 and 2009 pageants.

If she is crowned Miss America in January, Emmott will become the second Miss Missouri to win the national title. The first was Miss America 1990 Debbye Turner.
