Puerto Rico Wins Miss Earth 2019

Nellys Pimentel, 21, of San Juan, Puerto Rico was crowned Miss Earth 2019 on October 25 at Cove Manila at Okada Manila, Parañaque City, Philippines. She is the first Puerto Rican woman to win the title since the pageant began in 2001. Pimentel's court includes Miss Earth Air Emanii Davis of USA, Miss Earth Water Klara Vavruskova of Czech Republic, and Miss Earth Fire Alisa Manenok of Belarus. A few days ago, Pimentel had been crowned "Miss Earth Flora 2019" in Naga City.
Rounding up the top 10 were the contestants from Chile, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Poland and Russia. Completing the top 20 were the delegates from Colombia, England, Ghana, Guam, Guyana, Japan, Philippines, Portugal, Spain and Thailand.
Over 80 contestants competed in the 2019 edition which was hosted by James Deakin and carried by five television networks. Entertainment was provided by Barbados-born artist, Shontelle. Pimentel was crowed by outgoing queen, Nguyen Phuong Khanh of Vietnam.
