Miss USA 2025 Announces Pageant's Return After Leadership Shakeup
The Miss USA and Miss USA Teen have announced return dates for the pageants following news that Thom Brodeur would be taking over as CEO
Miss USA and Miss Teen USA are coming back.
Following controversy surrounding new leadership, the pageants officially announced dates for their 2025 competitions on Sept. 16.
Both the Miss USA pageant and its teen iteration will return on Oct. 18, with finals for Miss Teen USA taking place on Oct. 23 and finals for Miss USA coming the day after, on Oct. 24.
Both of the pageants will take place in Reno, Nev., at the Grand Sierra Resort in late October.
News of the official pageant dates comes after the Miss Universe Organization, which owns the two United States offshoots, officially announced new leadership for the two competitions.
The international parent organization issued a press release on Monday, Sept. 15, to announce a "new chapter" in the pageant's history. It also stated that pageant coach and judge Thom Brodeur had acquired the licensing rights to the two pageants, confirming Brodeur's original Sept. 4 announcement.
Brodeur now serves as President and CEO of Miss USA and Miss Teen USA, per the press release.
Miss Universe's official recognition of Brodeur's leadership comes after former CEO Laylah Rose publicly claimed she was still overseeing Miss USA and Miss Teen USA on the pageants' official Instagram pages. On Sept. 5, she posted a message seemingly denying Brodeur's claims that he would be replacing her.
Rose, in her post, wrote that she had not "been contacted nor have I see any new contracts, regarding any transfer of ownership."
She continued, stating, "It is our sincere expectation that if changes in ownership or leadership ever occur, they will be communicated appropriately, properly, and directly to all stakeholders, safeguarding the legacy and future of these historic organizations."

In a statement to PEOPLE after Rose's post, Brodeur said, "We're looking forward to official communications from the Miss Universe organization on the matters."
PEOPLE also reached out to representatives for Rose and the Miss USA organization for comment.
In the recent press release from Sept. 15, the Miss Universe Organization wrote, "With legacies spanning 74 years for Miss USA and 42 years for Miss Teen USA, these pageants have long stood as cultural icons—launching women into successful careers in fashion, media, entertainment, entrepreneurship, and public service."
Continuing on, the release read, "Today, under Brodeur’s visionary leadership, the brands are entering an exciting new era."
